Mother Nurture

Pregnancy is one of the most beautiful and challenging experiences to go through and each woman’s experience is completely different. Learning to nurture, nourish and love ourselves through pregnancy and birth is vital for moms, so it was important for me to continue my yoga and wellness education with a prenatal and postnatal training. I’m grateful to my mentor and teacher Lauren Prindiville for her courses with helping me understand the many benefits of yoga during and after pregnancy. Having yoga as part of your pregnancy journey, is like having your hand held to help navigate the often uncertain pregnancy experiences and birth plans. But it can be a beautiful, spiritual, life-affirming experience and it is my hope to offer prenatal practices for women entering their motherhood journey.

Becoming a mother (twice) has been the greatest blessing and gift I will ever receive and has completely changed my life. Motherhood is a - full-time - crazy-magical - adventure, with so many learning and growing opportunities for baby and me. There is no handbook for mothering (don’t we wish) - we rely on our instinct, intuition, imagination, courage, (coffee), humor, strength, patience, empathy and most of all - a lifetime of faith and love. Being a mother is a practice just like yoga is a practice. It is ever evolving, ebbing-and-flowing and there is always something presented to us in this unpredictable life practice for us to learn from. Having had the background in yoga was a blessing and benefit that supported my growth as a mother. As moms we are constantly trying to hold it together especially during those many phases of growing pains. Honestly, mothering is hard, especially with sleep deprivation, worry, or mom-guilt, but it is so essential for us to have grace in the process and hold space for more compassion and forgiveness. We go through an over-flow of heart bursting and heart breaking experiences, and just like yoga - it invites us to look deep inside our hearts, where we start to distinguish what it is in life that really matters.

I love being a mom even when it’s crazy. I couldn’t imagine going through life without feeling that spectrum of emotion, because it forces me to be present and “live in the moment” with them.
